Retirement & FIRE Calculator Australia — Find Your GLOW Number
Find your enough, not your maximum — in about 30 seconds.
This is a retirement calculator with a difference — it doesn’t ask what you could scrape by on, it asks what your life costs and shows the portfolio that could fund it indefinitely. In the FIRE movement it’s called your FIRE number; we call it your GLOW number: your annual work-optional spending × 25, the maths behind the 4% rule.
Two things Australians should know when using any FIRE calculator. First, your result is a total across super and outside-super investments — but super stays preserved until 60, so if you’re aiming earlier, the years before 60 must be funded from investments you can access (how preservation age works). Second, the Age Pension from 67 acts as a backstop that means many people need less than the raw number suggests (estimate your entitlement).
